I agree with Andrew. I'll check the History of Henry and Patrick Co. Haven't seen a copy of "Preachers and Cornstalks"but would like too.
You notice that Jesse's oldest son is also John Adam Corn. John Peters is Adam, Samuel's ( on a LDS computer print-out, not proven) is John. Havent researched Georges enough to know about him. At that time, it was the custom to name oldest son after paternal grandfather. I'm not saying it's written in stone but sure gives pause for thought. especially with John Adams Corn being in Albemarle Co, same time frame as 4 brothers birth. They all had such a thing about using those same four names on their own kids but John peter's family seems to be the only one with Mathew. Just speculating çause I'm not convinced of john Adam, BUT remember "family legends" aren't always right. John Peters family did seem to keep the best records, i admit. I'm headed for SLC Saturday. Already know from experience, the computer will spit out both versions. Is this why we do this?? for the challange?
