Oscar was my grandfather and I have translated the obituary and made some sense:

MONCTON - At the Stella Maris Hospital, Sainte-Anne de Kent on Wednesday 19th November, 1997 at the age of 78 years, Oscar Cormier died. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Hurdle, and resided in Bouctouche. He was the son of the late Livail and Delphine (Adele) (Belliveau) Cormier.

He left behind his two sons Ron and Ron's wife living in Fleet, Hampshire, England, and Johnny and Johnny's wife in Surrey, England. He also left behind four sisters: Irene Theriault of Blue Cove, NB, Maria Coyle of St. John, Olive Caissie of Oromocto, and Stella Peters of Ellsworth, Maine. He also left behind two brothers: Ted of Shediac, and Fred Digby, NS and five grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. (Just for your records, Johnny is my dad. Johnny has 3 children and Ron had 2 children before he passed away 8 years ago)

Sister, Aurora, and brother, Leonard, and his stepfather, Onezime Jaillet, had predeceased.

Mr. Cormier was a veteran of the Second World War. He served overseas from 1941-1945, with the Royal Canadian Army.

His Body is on display now at the Maillet Funeral Home Ltd. Bouctouche. The funeral will be held at St-Jean-Baptiste de Bouctouche, Friday, November 21st at 7pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
