Cormier Family Genealogy Forum

Henry,
If you got the info from the Rootsweb Worldconnect database, re: Anne being married to the Isaac Arseneau from Magdalen Islands, then the Rootsweb databases are incorrect! How the people involved confused her with Marie Cormier of the Magdalen islands, I'll never know, but they did. She and Marie are two distinct people, both married to men of the same name, but in different places.
As I look at your Anne Cormier, and knowing that some members of the family of Francois Cormier and Anne Chiasson lived in the Rollo Bay area before going to Cheticamp circa mid-1770s/1780s, I would look at their family instead for a possible daughter named Anne. She probably belongs to them or is a close relative of that family. Don't take my word as gospel, but perhaps it will open up on some new research questions. You can also write to genealogist Stephen White at the Centre d'etudes acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson in Moncton, NB. He might have better answers for your question. The Centre's website is to be found via a Google search. You might also e-mail Victor Cormier on this forum, as he is an expert on the Cormier family.
Regards, Dennis
