Greetings, I have been doing research on my grandfather James Corless (Corlis on his Tuam RC parish baptismal record), born to Michael Corless and Bridget Delia Fox Corless in July 1889. They lived on Galway Road, Killaloonty Townland, Tuam, County Galway, Ireland. When Michael and Delia met in the city of Galway, he was living at Fishmarket and she on Sikeen Lane, Town Parks, Parish of St. Nicholas. Michael's father Patrick Corles is listed in the 1855 Griffiths as leasing house, yard & garden #82 Galway Road, Killaloonty township, Tuam from the Court of Chancery. James had 7 siblings: Delia Corless born June 1876, Patrick Corles born August 1877, Michael Corliss born 1879, Mary Corlis born September 1881, Honor Corlis born June 1883, John Corles born February 1887 and Mary Kate Corles born September 1891. Mary Kate died in 1900 in the workhouse and her father had no listed occupation at the time. The 1901 census lists Bridget (48 year old - Fish Dealer), son James (12 - scholar), son John (15 - scholar), and daughter Honor (17 - no occupation) as household 22, Killaloonty, Tuam. It lists Bridget as married but does not list Michael. My grandfather James immigrated Lawrence, Massachusetts around 1905 or 1910. I do not know if any of his siblings also emigrated. Any assistance would be appreciated. Sincerely, John Micheal Corliss, Jr. Notify Administrator about this message?
