I am researching Mary Alice CORLESS, born 27 Sep 1861 in Wigan, died 26. Apr 1960 also in Wigan. I wonder if there's any chance she's your William's sister or other relation.... Have you run across her name?

She was my great-grandmother. One of her grandsons told me her father was a professional soldier, but he didn't know his name.
