Regarding the relationship between the Corleys and the Terrys of Wilson County:
I believe I've seen a mention in one of your posts--or in someone's, at any rate--of the marriage of Sarah or Sally Terry to Nathan Corley.
Also, I believe you--or someone--has mentioned that Sally Corley is enumerated in a household with George and James Terry. The family immediately preceding them in that census is headed by Montgomery J. Corley.
From Wilson County Deed Book Z:Montgomery J. Corley to Samuel McDonald 71 acres in the 7th District.Sarah Corley, widow of Nathan Corley, has a life estate in the land.26 April 1852.(pp. 36-37)

When Frederick Terry married Eliza Bell in Wilson County, on 15 Jan 1845, his security or bondsman was M.J. Corley.
I realize that this information doesn't help much, other than to show that there was some connection between the families.Nevertheless, I think we can form a hypothesis:
Sarah LNU (b. ca 1780 in VA) married FNU Terry sometime around the first decade of the 1800s.Sometime between 1824 and 1836, Mr. Terry died.In the meantime, the couple had at least these children: Jeremiah, b. ca 1811 in TN; Frederick, b. ca 1817 in TN; George, b. ca 1818 in TN; James R., b. ca 1824 in TN.Sometime between 26 Apr 1852 and the 1860 census, Sarah died--probably in Wilson County.
Having "made up" this story, the next step would be to look for the Wills and/or Probate records for men named Terry between 1824 and 1836, maybe in Wilson County, as well as for the Will and/or Probate records for Sarah/Sally Corley between Apr 1852 and 1860, probably in Wilson County.I'll put that on my to-do list, but please post the results if you get to it first!
