This Samuel, according to the 1850 census, was living in Ohio, in Suffield Twp, Portage County. Married to a Tabathy, b 1903.Looked like 11 children:William, Mary, Samuel Jr, Lafayette, Jacob, Sarah, Daniel,Benjamin, Almira, Tabathy, Thomas. I come down from Benjamin Franklin, my grandfather, who lived most of his adult life in Hartville, Ohio, and is buried there. If all these are Samuel's children, Mary who was 24,and William 21, were born in PA., but where in PA> is the question.

More like spring than summer.
Henry SWEENEY and his littl daughter are visiting relatives in Ozawkie this week.
Mrs. T.B.CORL and Mrs. SWEENEY will leave in a short time for a visit to their old home in Ohio.
Marie,
Recently received this article on the Jefferson Co. Kansas list.Could this T. B.Coral be one of yours.Perhaps Thomas.Mrs. Sweeney is my Great Grandmotherwho was from Stark Co. Ohio. She was born Christiana Hawley. She married John Sweeney her second husband and they farmed in Suffield Twp, Portage Co. Ohio.I believe she had a son Franklin and his Wife and two children who remained in Ohio when the rest of the familly went to KS in 1879.Christiana was a member of the Church of the Brethren or German Babtist. They had a large contingent just across the county line in nimishillen Twp, Stark Co.
There was an activeGerman Babtist church in Ozawkie, Jeff. Co. and I suspect many of its members may have come from Ohio.It would be nice to know how far backthis friendshipextended.
Would love to hear any thought you have on this.
Best Wishes,
Ron Sweeney
