Sarah A. Corker was daughter of Thomas D. Corker & Mary (I have 'A.' in the family Bible) Kersey. My gg grandmother was Martha Jane Corker (b. 11 Feb, 1860). She was called Gigi.

A number of relatives have attested that Gigi was told by her family early on that the Corker lineage was given land grants by the King for having fought in Bacon's Rebellion. Three brothers, in fact, fought but only two remained in Virginia. I have heard the story before and may have read about it online somewhere, too.
