Hi Michelle,
Saw your post and wanted to help.On the 1920 census, Frank Cork and his wife Susan D. were in Brown County, Aberdeen, South Dakota.
I found him on the 1880 census as well.He was born 1-29-1875 in Minnesota.Probably Collins, McLeod County. His Father was Leonard Cork (listed as Cook), born about 1834 in Vermont. Leonard’s Father born in Vermont, his Mother in New Hampshire.Frank’s Mother was Charlotte (maiden name Dame), born about 1836 in New York, both of her parents born in New York. There were 2 other children still living at home in 1880.Beecher L. Cork, born about 1857 in Wisconsin and Edward Cork, born about 1865, also in Wisconsin.
A heads up for you: check under Cork and Cook, the writing can be misleading.
Back to the 1920 census.Susan D. as she was listed was born in about 1877 in New York.According to the census report her Father was born in PA and her Mother in New York. Also, the census said she was a storekeeper in a grocery store. The children were Franklin L. born about 1915 in Wisconsin, Willis L. born about 1916 in South Dakota, Arthur C. born about 1918 in South Dakota, and Walter M. born the end of 1919.
Frank Cork was born 1-29-1875 in Wisconsin and died 10-20-1965 in Los Angeles, CA.His SSN was 390-09-3804.You can get a lot of info from the Social Security office.
Good luck to you with your genealogical journey. If this helped you, I hope you’ll help someone else in the future.
Carol
