Assuming we are both correct in our records, we should be distant cousins. Sarah Melissa (Core) Richards was my g-grandmother on my mothers side. If you are still involved in genealogy, I would like to correspond and compare our records.
In addition, I have posted a message on a number of sites that I am repeating below. Have you considered doing any DNA testing?

I am descended (maternal side) from Sarah Peckinpaugh, b abt 1775 who reportedly married John Core and bore a daughter, Sarah Melissa Core, b abt 1800. I have recently had my mtDNA tested.
I would really like to make contact with any possible descendents from this line who either have already had their mtDNA tested or who are willing to consider doing the test.
Comparing our mtDNA results would be very beneficial to both of us, especially if we can establish a paper connection. If interested please respond on this site or by direct e-mail at gariley@yahoo.com.
