Present Fayette Co. PA used to be part of several different counties, among them Hampshire Co. VA. The county and state lines changed considerably in the 1700's. My question is this: Did Henry Core and Sarah Barrickman's son John remain in PA or go south to St Tammany Parish LA? My children's 4 gr-grndfth's name was Jacob Core b. March 31, 1806. His fth's name was John Core and mother Rosa Ann Thompson. From info posted at Ancestry.com and Kindred Konnections John was born in PA. His parents were supposedly Henry Core and Sarah Barrickman. I have no birthplace for Jacob but he was in LA at an early age. He could have been born in PA and gone with his fth BUT...info from LDS and Gene Pool records show Henry's son John as marrying Ann Hatfield. I suppose he could have married a second time or maybe even wasn't married to Jacob's mth at all. The person this info came from is now deceased and I have no idea where she got her info. I would love to think it's all accurate and I can finally get some peace (finding John's parentage has been driving me INSANE) but until I have more convincing documentation I never will. Can someone please help?!!!
Thanks,
Lori Willoughby Core
