My great grandmother was Ada J Cordery of Ft. Gibson. She had a brother named James "Jim" Cordray who lived from 1906 - 1968. It is distinctly possible this is the grandfather you are looking for.

If so, Ada and Jim were the 1st and 3rd of six children born to Thomas J Cordery (sometimes found as Cordray, Cordary, etc) and Mary Ellen McCulley Cordery. According to the 1900 and 1920 censuses, Thomas J Cordery was 7/8 Cherokee. He is listed on the U.S. Native American Enrollment for the Five Civilized Nations (1898-1914) as "Thomas J Cordreay" and his Dawes Roll # was 23240.

My mother is Ada's granddaughter through her youngest son, Mitchell Leon Spencer. I have extended family still living in Muskogee and Ft. Gibson areas.
