Thanks Gary for replying.Thom Corner also contacted me - by email - so I'm glad I posted and became part of the Corner/Cordner dialogue.I just read Thom's post about sharing family lore. This is a great idea. Customs, weird and wonderful do get passed down from generation to generation and often these customs or beliefs are peculiar to a clan or family not the whole community.I wish I had some to share - unfortunately my granny (close descendant of Ann Corner/Cordner McManus ie was her granddaughter and was raised by her when her mother, Mary McManus, died) apparently didn't talkmuch about her parents and grandparents.Ann Cordner/Corners father, Samuel Corner/Cordner would have been born around 1800. He was a handloom weaver and married to Mary Toner. They were Roman Catholic. The family lore (such as it is) includes the information that my Granny talked about Tyrone, Antrim and Dungannon in connection with her own ancestry.I'll post on this site as I (hopefully) uncover any further information.
