My family emigrated from Fahrendorf, Hanover, Germany in 1852. He is the Adolf Cordes whose family went to Cole Camp, Mo and then went to Pochahantas, IA. Adolph Cordes was born January 30, 1816 at Fahrendorf, Hanover, Germany. He was a farmer. Came to America sometime between May 1, 1852 and May 1, 1853. Settled near Indian Creek (now Mt. Hulda) near Boeschenville, Benton County, Missouri. He died September 4, 1891 of stomach cancer. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Biezen of the Lutheran Church. His obituary states that he received a pension for military service at Burgerkreig. I have a fairly complete tree made by my father's cousin, Lillie Landolt about twenty five years ago in Des Moines, IA. My tree started with Adolf, Claus, John Anton, Claus Henry then me. If you have other information on this family, I would be interested.

Ron Cordes
