I was just re-checking messages on GenForum. Your Elizabeth Tipton caught my attention so I re-opened this message. I may have uncovered some useful clues in Shenandoah County, VA. Martha Denton m. James Moore then Col John Tipton. Reuben Moore was her son with James Moore and Abraham Tipton was her son with Col. Tipton. Reuben Moore was reported to have been the step-father of Henry Reader. Henry Reader was the bondsman for two Criswell marriages--Elizabeth and Rhoda. Rhoda m. James CORDER in 1801.

Now here is what I found even more interesting. There were three CORDERs in ShenCo ca 1800--Wm, James and John. From the ShenCo marriage records, Wm CORDER's wife was named Deborah. Your Deborah is the only other Deborah I have found in the Corder families. I also found Humes mentioned in the ShenCo records.

I found a cluster of similar names in Greene County, OH 1820-1840. They include CRISWELL, CORDER, CORTER, and WILLSON. In 1850 I found a Washington and Rhoda CARDER. Washington CORDER was in the 1840 Census. I'll keep your James and John in mind as I continue searching ShenCo. At present, it is beginning to appear as though Wm Corder of ShenCo may belong to a Frederick County, VA family.

Let me know if you have any more clues to add to this complicated web.
