Your posting interests me because I have quite a bit of data on Mary "Polly" Corder, who married John Murphy. Because I have researched the primary sources in both Caswell County NC and Smith County TN, I am confident the two are one and the same couple. I have the Caswell County marriage record, but not the one in Smith County you mention. Can you tell me the book and page where the marriage is recorded in Smith County? I must have missed it. Also, I keep seeing the maiden name "Barker" for Grace, but so far no one I have asked has been able to verify with documentary evidence that this is a proven fact. I am very interested in knowing the your source for this statement. I have located a Barker family that lived in the same locality as the Corders. Perhaps someone has discovered a will, a gift deed, or some other document that furnishes her maiden name. It would be nice if it could be shared with those who are interested.
