Thanks for the information.
What do you mean by "Nathan and his 2nd younger wife Elizabeth are listed with Cawly, Corder, Washington and Morgan surnames"?Did Nathan use other surnames?
I live in the house and property that Nathan once ownedI can trace the ownership back to him.I have a copy of his will where he splits up the property among his 3 sons. His will also mentions a deceased daughter.
There is an story that I found about his daughter and the lynching of a man who eloped with her.
I also have the Chancery paperwork where Nathan bought the property from James Marshall(brother of John Marshall). He paid $7420 for the property - I think in cash. That was a good amount of money back then.I wonder where he got it.
I'm not a relative but was researching the house to see if I could figure out who built it and why.I'm pretty sure that the house was already built when Nathan bought it in 1880.That means James Marshall or a tenant built it.I'm not sure how to find out who leased the property before Nathan bought it.Maybe Nathan leased it and then bought it when Marshall died? One of the documents refers to the property as "Wheatfields".
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ralph
