Jacquilyn:
No one has ever found proof that "Barker" is the maiden name for Gracy Corder w/o John Corder.
All we know of her is that she died after the deposition of John's will of Smith County, TN.
The name Barker was made up many years ago by a paid researcher and the mistake has been carried on for years. If you can't prove that surname, please remove it from your records.
From the court records of Smith County, TN, we have proof that the children of John Corder and wife Gracy are as follows:
Joel Corder (deceased)- killed by indians in Kentucky
Elizabeth Carthright (if alive) - escaped from indians in Kentucky
Luis Corder (Lewis Corder who married Marey Garner)
William Parks (unknown relationship)
Balas Corder (Balius Corder who married Parasaid Stone)
Jarrett Powell (executor)
