Oliver J. Corbin & Elihu Corbin
These 2 men are related somehow. Oliver J. Corbin was born in New Hampshire in 1807, probably around Charlestown, entered Dartmouth Medical School in 1829 stating he was from Newport, NH and graduated from Vermont Medical College in 1832 and trekked westward to Kendall County, IL in 1834-5 and set up medical practice in Plainfield, IL in 1835. Attempting to save a house he built in Plainfield in 1843.Elihu Corbin was born in 1813 in Middletown, Vermont and lived in Vermont for the first 22 years of his life and moved to Illinois in 1835 and then to Cleveland, Ohio in 1836 where he married Elizabeth Ann Fish in 1837 and remained until 1851 and then moved to Plainfield. Dr. Oliver J. Corbin lived in Plainfield until his death in 1869 and Elihu lived in Plainfield until his death in 1895. Both were well respected and I need to find out some information regarding their early years in New Hampshire & Vermont, since that time period is at best sketchy. Anyone with information would be most appreciated.
