I believe you may be the missing link I've been looking for.
It's a long story, but my mum is a Copley, and she has been led to believe she is a descendant of the Copleys of Sprotborough Hall, Doncaster, UK, which is where your family of Colpeys originate.
Richard Copley (born 16 Aug 1759), is the son of John Copley and Elisabeth Parkin, as you have listed, John Copley's father is William Copley, Mother Sarah Copley, distant cousins,
their lineage goes right back to about 1200, and a few of the Copleys of this family were Baronets .
My mum is Jennifer Copley, youngestof 7 children, all living, she was born in York in 1950, her parents were David Copley and Alice North, both deceased. Unfortunatley, I have no other info on them.
Do you know of a David Copley in your family tree from about 1900 onwards, probably born about 1920?
I would be very grateful for any info you might have, as i can then eliminate this line from my records.
