I am researching the Copland family who were farmers in Dumfries & Galloway. John Copland (b.1831 in Kirkcudbright) was the son of William Copland and Janet Carnochan. He married Elizabeth McGeorge and lived in the Dumfries area until he died in 1884. They had a large family and lived in Wigan, Lancashire, for a number of years as well.
Their children were Elizabeth, James , Edith, Jessie, Annie , John and Maxwell.
If anyone has a connection I would love to hear from them and we could share information.
