I have the names of the daughters of John Whisman and Mary Ann Copenhaver. Mary K. Birth date unknown, Sarah "Sally" Born 08 July 1806. But I have a LaVina Whisman born in 1823 in Germany listed among the children.
This has me puzzled. Did the census taker make a mistake and put a hired girl down as a child? The only other explaination and really far-fetched is that maybe Mary went to Germany to visit family and had the child? I really do not think so, because of the costs and time away from her own family. Also LaVina is not a German name.
