Dave - The original emigrant was Johan Wolfgang "Woolf" Koppenhofer (with an umlaut above the o), who arrived from Wurttemburg Germany on the ship Pennsilvania (sic) at the port of Philadelphia, with his wife Anna Maria Haffner. With them were 4 of their 5 children: Johan Michael, Anna Rosina, Anna Barbara abd Anna Katharina. Their other son, Johan Thomas, had arrived 4 years earlier on board the ship James Goodwill in the port of Philadelphia. Wolfgang took the Oath of Allegiance in Philadelphia on 11 Sep 1732. They settled just north of Myerstown PA in Heildeburg twp. Johan Thomas b.1710 was married 3 times. His first wife was Anna Maria Zinn, by whom he had: Heinrich, Johan Michael, Simon (Captain),Johan Thomas (Captain), Anna Regina/Sophia, Eva Maria and Catharina. He and his second wife Anna Elizabeth Holtzman had Jacob. His third wife was Catherine Elizabeth Lehman, and produced no children. Johan Thomas was b. 1739 in Heidelburg twp., Lancaster Co., Pa and d. 1802 in Wythe Co., Virginia. HE was the Koppenhofer who settled in the south, and whose descendants changed their surname to Coppenhaver. He and his 1st wife Catherine Moser had 5 children, and he was married twice more to Catherine Miese and Julianna Siek, with no children from either. I hope this clears up some things for you. Good luck on your project. Barb
