According to a document obtained by my father (Paul Eldridge Copenhaver) back in the mid 1950's, Copenhaver/Koppenheffer/
Kjobehavn means "Ships Harbour". Jacob Koppenheffer/Copenhaver landed near Phildelphia , Delaware Bay (1723?). He then
moved to York County, PA. He had a large family that included Thomas, Simon, Jacob, Robert, and Daniel. From there they expanded to SW Virginia, Shenandoah Valley, Kanawha County WV, Washingotn County, PA.
