This won't help you find the VA connection but I have a George H. Copenhaver b. 1902 m. Leafa May Brown d. 1931, Osceola, St. Clair, MO. They had a daughter Jean who married Ernest Stogsdill and issued Sandra. I am related through two of Leafa's sisters, Elizabeth Dewey and Ruth Hursh.
