One of Thomas' sons, Malachi Chesson Copeland had a daughter (firstborn child) named Elizabeth Jane Copeland who was born on 9/17/1889. Is this your g'gma? If so, could you fill me in on her dates, husband and 1 generation of Patrick children. It would help me keep the Elizabeth Jane's separate, as it was such a common name for girls. I guess that would make Joseph Griffin copeland her grandfather.
He was born and died on Chowan Co., NC = if you google "chowan county north carolina cemeteries", you will find a few hours of research. Good luck. Judy
