Charles,
Joseph Griffin Copeland (1832 to 1902) was the son of Thomas J. Copeland, jr. (1802, NC) who married in 1826 to Elizabeth Lamb. Thomas J. Copeland, Sr was born in 1772, NC and died in 1852.
Joseph G. Copeland mar'd Martha Elizabeth Winslow and their five children were: Edward, Melachi Chesson, Irene "Rena", Jephy & Eleanor Dare.
In my Copeland data, Joseph G. is listed as a 10th generation Copeland, so I have all of his descendants for 9 more generations back. I hope this helps you a little. I might have been able to do more if you had listed the full name of the g'gma who married a Patrick.
