I wonder if your Bruce Burns COPELAND b 31 Oct 1847 could be a relative or namesake of one in a collateral line of my family tree?
In 1880 U S Census, Fabius Township, Schuyler County, Missouri, 23 Jul 1880, I have one Bruce Burns COPELAND, age 7, in the household of Samuel A. and Lucinda WEBSTER.Lucinda's maiden name may be lost; however, I have seen preserved notes from prior family researchers stating that her name may have been SEE.
Lucinda and Samuel WEBSTER are buried in Webster Cemetery, Fabius Twp, Schuyler Co., IA, as is Bruce Burns COPELAND 1873-1932.
This Bruce is buried next to Artie E., I believe his wife 1875-1960, and they had issue:Camille E. COPELAND LANE 1898-1937 buried Webster Cemetery; Guy Reese COPELAND 1904-1905 buried Webster Cemetery; Francis E. COPELAND 1906-1907 buried Webster Cemetery; Alice Burns COPELAND FILLMORE b 1908 (A headstone is in the same country cemetery but no date of death is inscribed.); and Artie Elaine COPELAND GOHEEN WHITAKER 1912-1992 buried Webster Cemetery, who must be her mother's namesake!
Could my collateral line here be part of your line noted in your Dec 1998 post?
I would happy to correspond with you!Bruce Burns COPELAND's half brothers and sisters are the issue of my maternal great-great-grandmother Hannah Elizabeth WEBSTER GROSECLOSE's eldest sibling whom I mentioned above, Samuel A. WEBSTER 1847-1900.Lucinda's dates are 1853-1905.
We could share information about my WEBSTER line and I could learn about the COPELANDs.
Thanks for reading!
