Robert, Are you referring to the Alfred Coots who is in the 1880 McLennan Co TX census aged 7 with his father William Coots aged 54 born Missouri? In 1900 Alfred is in Limestone Co TX census with his brother-in-law, Gilbert Taylor. His birthdate is given as August 1871 TX. His father William Coots is nextdoor with the William Taylor family.
