Alexander Evans "Alex" Cooper
SPRINGHILL / MONROE, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Alexander Evans "Alex" Cooper, age 31, will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Springhill, LA, with Father Mark Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the vigil at 7:00 PM in the Bailey Mortuary Chapel.
Mr. Cooper was born July 20, 1978 in Minden, LA to Donald Paul "Don" and Anita Evans Cooper, Sr. and passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Houston, TX. He was a lifelong resident of this area, making his home in Monroe, LA for the past one and one-half years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mr. Cooper was a system programmer for Century Link Communication, was a 1996 class graduate of Springhill High School, a 2000 class graduate of LA Tech and an avid golfer and fisherman.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Donald Paul Cooper, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Magnolia, AR; his sister, Katherine "Kate" Gibbs and husband, Chris of Navarre, FL; his nieces, Claudia Cooper, Adelaide Gibbs and his nephew, Julian Gibbs.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cave, Mike Grillot, Brandon Nance, Marti Whitlow, Nick Henry, Nate Henry, Ragen Nash and Jarrod Cooper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050, www.marfan.org
