Thanks to some excellent advice given to me from a fellow researcher on Genforum I, after only two years, have found a marriage bond for a female who appears to be my Cooper girl in Harrison Township, WVA. Hannah Cooper married Charles Rice (my guy) in October of 1830 (time frame is perfect). Hiram Cooper Jr. posted the bond along with Charles Rice. The only Hiram Cooper I can find on Harrison County census records during the correct time frame (I sure wish they'd put names and not just tally marks!)is too young to be Hannah's father but the right age to be a brother (Hannah was born 1810). I DO find living close by Hiram both a Thomas and a Samuel Cooper. Samuel, again, appears to be too young to be the father of Hannah but Thomas is just the right age. Does anyone out there know if Thomas Cooper of Harrison County WV had a daughter named Hannah? Hannah and her husband moved to Scioto County Ohio about 1839 if that helps tie things together. Charles and Hannah eventually ended up in Boyd County KY. Thanks for taking the time to read this - I realize it's long.
