Seek information on descendants of Henry Coons and Mary Howe.

Possible that they are parents of our William Wilson Coons, who was a United Brethren Minister in Preble County Ohio.

The following is related postings and census data.

Coons Family Genealogy Forum posting by Samuel Johnston(1999). The posting provides the following information. No verified connection to our William Wilson Coons.

Henry Coons married Mary Ann Howe on 2/19/1789 in Berkeley Co, VA (now WV). The family moved to Ross County OH about 1807.
Some children were:
John,
Rachael,
Mary Ann,
Elizabeth,
Wilson,
Phillip.

Wilson is possibly our William Wilson Coons.
A short family history written by a descendant of John Coons written in 1885 states the parents of Henry Coons came from Germany. Henry died in Jackson Co, OH in 1827. Rachael married John Hillery in Pickaway County, OH.

1820 census of Butler County Ohio(just south of Preble county) included 3 Coons household:
Henry Coons, males 3<10, 2 10-15, 45up 1, females 3<10. 1 10-15, 1 26-44.
George Coons males 1 18-25, females 1 16-25.
William Coons, males 2<10, 1 18-25, females 1 16-25.
Seems likely that William and George are sons of Henry.

1820 census of Butler County also included Ebenezer Howe, males 2 < 10, 1 10-15, 1 18-25, 1 45up, females, 1<10, 1 10-15, 3 16-25, 1 26-44. Possible kin to Mary Howe, wife of Henry Coons.
