Barbara Rudy, born 1795 KY, married John Coonce, born 1787 KY, about 1811. Some say married in MO. some say KY, but first child, Abraham was born 4-8-1812 in Callaway Co., MO. I don't have her parent's names, yet.
John Coonce was son of Jacob Coonse/Coonce, born about 1761 in Hempfield twp, Westmoreland Co., PA (parents Nicholas and Mary Coonse.) Jacob and brothers, John and Nicholas Coonse, rejoined each other in St. Charles District of Spanish Missouri in late 1700's, obtained land grants, etc. and died there in early 1800's after fathering several children. Jacob's route was down the Ohio River to Kentucky where son, John, and daughter, Susanna, were born. First and second wives died there and he moved to St. Charles, along with former in-laws. He remarried and had several more children between 1806 and 1820. Son, John, married Barbara Rudy, and moved to Callaway Co, MO where they lived had kids, and are buried there on Hadley Hess farm. Susanna married Andrew Zumwalt, who died in 1855, after which Susanna moved to OR with daughter and family.
