Nope. It has to be father to son all the way down the line. Females do not have Y DNA, so cannot pass it to their children.

I don't know if I am related to the people in Parryville that you mention. I have nothing that indicates that I am.

There seems to be an awful lot of different Coon lines here in the US. I am certain that mine were here prior to 1800 so that should help narrow down the search for the ancestors of George Coon, PA 1786.

What I someday hope to see is some Eurpoean Koontz, Kuhn, Gohn's participate in the DNA research project. That may allow some of us to find our roots in Europe and work from the other end of our trees.
