Margaret Coon IS the mother of Elizabeth Coon(ca 1840TN-aft1880Montg. Co., TN), found in 1880 census of Montgomery Co., TN, Dist 14, house 13, p. 304: Henry McCormack, 50, b. VA, both pts b. VA; Elisabeth [nee Coon], 40, b. TN, fa. b. NC, mo. b. TN; Walton, 18; Martha, 16, Indianna, 13; Judy, 11; Margaret COON, 60, b. TN, both pts b. TN, "mo. in law", enumerated adjacent to W. B. Stewart, 59.
W. B. Stewart's homeplace is the site of the "Blanton" cemetery on Hinton Rd, near Henrietta, but in Montgomery Co., TN (just barely). Suspect Elizabeth Coon McCormick is buried there; or with her husband at nearby Adkins Cem on Hinton Rd. Lots of McCormick's living around there, and I'll be talking with some of them to see if there are any fam records of COON ancestry. Wish me luck!
