This may help to explain the situation. John MacCoone was married to Mary Wood in Aberdeneshire Scotland. They had a daughter Isabel MacCoone. It appears as though Mary married Edward Bliven in Scotland. They had two children Rachel and James Bliven.
John's second marriage was to Sarah Ford. They had one son, born June 14th, 1666, John(Jr.?) It is recorded that Sarah had a second marriage. She married Richard Wood. The question is did the MacCoon Ford marriage end in divorce? John(Jr.?) married Anne MacCoone (cousin or another line of MacCoon's?) They had 7 children. John, Daniel, Rachel, Mary, Abrigal, William, and Joseph. Years of birth (1694-1706.) The question now is did this John (Jr.?) marry a second time. I have a listing of John MacCoone Jr marrying Anne Larkin. They had a child, Rachel McCoon. Note name change. What is weird is that Rachel was born in 1698. Note births of the MacCoone-MacCoone marriage. (1694-1706.)
John MacCoone Sr.'s third marriage was to Deborah Bush. I only have one lisiting of a son born in 1666. This child was also named John. However, his last name was recorded as John MecckCoon. Could this have been a spelling error?
Or could there be different MacCoon families at this time. For example, the birthdates of the MacCoone-MacCoone married does not coincide with the birthdate of the MacCoone-Anne Larkin marriage. Unless John Jr. was married to two women at the same time. Rachel Larkin-McCoon was born in 1698. Yet, John and Anne MacCoone had children born in the years of 1698-1706. The John of the MacCoone-MacCoone marriage was born in 1694, so he could not be the John married to Anne Larkin.
