Joseph and Polly's one son was named Joseph Shearer. I sometimes think that the Shearer may well have been Joseph's mother's maiden name, or the maiden name of his father's mother. Joseph of 1745 had the middle initial of S. I do know that Polly and Joseph moved to Rockport in 1838, and then to Wakeman in 1850. Probably they transfered land to Joseph S. and when they moved to Rockport, I think that Joseph Shearer Coon and his wife may have travelled with them if so then Joseph Shearer I they
probably transefered the land to Clausons. I think that your right about the last part Coonrod being Conrad. However I have seen the name of Coonrod or Conrod showing up at various times. Could be a mispelling or perhaps the actual name. Some of the names that I have seen have been rather strange. For example Henry Joseph Coon, Polly and Joseph's son, named one of his sons Orange Clayton.
