I am going to Nelson County next week and want to locate two physical sites: 1)Coomes Corner in Bardstown. "Coomes Corner - Road from Bardstown to Danville near Bardstown Waters off Stewart's Creek", and; Coomes Cave " the present Geoh. and Mathis Rock Quarry takes in some of the old William Coomes land claim.) William chose the land because it had a large cave, that he couold use to to take his family when there were indian attacks. This cave was called "Coombs Cave" and it links to the Mamouth Caves. Another name linked with the 1caves is "The Cave Place". It was later owned by Aloysius Coomes, a grandson of the original proprietor. The estate has passed away from the family."
Appreciate any help you can give to identify exact location.
