Hello Rita,
First let me say I am not researching the Coomes Family Line, But, The McDaniel line of Daviess County KY. I recently ordered a book from the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Daviess Co. KY. This book has 51 Coomes listed in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. I did not see a Jane listed but,as you mentioned they were of the Cathoilc Faith,the church was run by Rev. Linus Coomes in 1844 and by Rev. Athanasius Aud in 1845. In 1846 there was also a Father Walter S. Coomes. They do have a listing for William P. Coomes B-17 May1817 D-18 January 1889 Buried in church cemetery.The Church may have more records to help in your search. Good Luck.
