I have several references to her being the first teacher and the story about her teaching the white settlers to cure meat with salt. But they're all in various histories and books. I'd like to know where the historians got the information. (My guess is that it appeared in one of the early histories of Kentucky and has been then repeated elsewhere using that as a source, but I'd like to know what the original source is for the details of her life.

But thanks for posting! I haven't done any Maryland research on the Coomes line and only know of what I read in other people's books and research posts.
