My Coomes family came to Maryland about 1800
we think. Asyet have no linkage with the
early Coomes in KY. However in some of my
research I have run across Jane Coomes,
the first teacher in Kentucky. You might
them abaout such. I am sure they will have
something on this either in their Record of
Early Teachers or through the Kentucky
Department of Education.
