I have traced my family back to Stokes Co. North Carolina from at least 1790 (when the US started the census). They probably came from Rhode Island before then. I have never found a passenger list w/ Coomer's on it. So I had my dad's genes mapped, and our paternal genes are a viking pattern. So, if a Coomer in the UK did a genetic map to the Coomer Family DNA search, that may show a link. But we already figure that we had to come from the UK, since most people in the 1600's in the Americas were from the UK.
