As a descendant of Coombes and Wathens, I anxiously awaited Mary Louise Donnelly's latest book: "Charles Co. Md., My Colonial Relations Plus Others." She has obviously put many hours into it, but I thought that the Coombes on this list should be aware of a few misinterpretations. Primarily, the information given for Joseph Coombes (#13)should be transferred to Joseph Coombes (#16) pages 99 and 101. Joseph Coombes, son of William and Winifred Ensay Coombes, married Sarah Jenkins of Prince Georges Co., as per her father's will. The land dealings and children listed under #13 are those of this Joseph. I do not know enough about Joseph, son of Thomas, to comment there. Also - p. 99 and 102: Margaret Modestus Coombes, daughter of Ignatius and Charity Woods Coombes, married first Raphael Wathen (not John), son of John Baptist and Henrietta Riney Wathen. Raphael died 1798 in Randolph Co., (West) Virginia and she went to Washington Co., Ky. to be with her family. There she married Zacharia Aud. Finally, p. 103:the Bible of Wilfred Wathen and Winifred Elizabeth Coombes can be found at the Filson Club in Louisville. Children named are: (Rev.) JOHN C. (not Charles John), Julianna who m. Thomas Carrico; Christina (Sr. M. Everalda, S.L.); Matilda (Sr. M. Rose, S. L.), Martin, m. Matilda Cooper; Mary, m. Charles Jarboe; William Francis, m. Susan Emerson; Rebecca, m. William Hansborough; Pius; Ignatius, m. Mildred Hughes; and Charles, m. Mary Hawkins. I am most concerned about the Joseph's -- since Joseph and Sarah are my ancestors <G>
