RICHARD COOMBES/COOMBS C1846
Can anyone help please? My gggrandfather, Richard, was the youngest of three children. (George born c 1840,and Mary c1843.) Their mother was Sarah, aged 43 and a widow, born in Romsey, Hampshire according to the 1851 census. I cannot find the family on the 1841 census and cannot find their father's name. Richard married Elizabeth Johnson in Romsey on 25/12/1869 and they had 4 children, Sarah Priscilla (my ggrandmother); Elizabeth; Edwin Charles and Walter John (who I believe was later known as John). Richard may have been born in Toothill. Does any of this mean anything to you? I would be grateful for any information at all.
