I believe we have been in touch before through combsfamily list. The BDM in UK only covers compulsory registration from 1837. As your Isaac goes back before that the only resources are parish registers and the IGI.
Genuki mentioned on the site you quoted is a very good resource too.
I will keep you in mind if I am doing any research on Cornwall.
It also helps to belong to rootschat.com as you can find lots of stuff there sometimes.
