Lucy was the daughter of Moses and Sarah (Morrill) Coolidge. Her date of birth is given in the town records of Jay, Maine, as 16 Aug. 1793, and in the town records of Dixfield, Maine, as 16 Aug. 1792 (her parents married 12 July 1792 in Winthrop, Maine). She married 8 Apr. 1819 (according to Jay TRs) Joseph Foss, Jr., of Dixfield, son of Joseph and Nancy (McDonald) Foss, b. 9 May 1798 in Gorham, Me. (according to Dixfield and Gorham TRs).
