In regards my previous message, I would like to point out an error. Mahala PARKER was born in Va., not Pa.
I also found a little more information that might possibly pertain to Uriah COOLIDGE. You see, I was puzzled as to why I couldn't find Uriah's name in the index for the 1850 census. Well, I noticed that in The History of Union County, Ohio that the militia group to which Uriah, which was a "light horse company", was formed in Milford (in Union Twp.) and that it lasted until 1847 when a law requiring men ages 16-50 "to perform military duty" was repealed. I don't know how long Uriah was in the militia, though; but I figured that he was probably living in Milford in 1850. (He may have also been married there.) So I looked the 1850 census for Union Twp. However, I found this guy named Uriah COOLERIDGE; but as it turns out, both were from N.Y. and both had a wife named Mahala and a son named Hiram. I figured that the census taker may have written the name wrong. That said, I should mention what I found. It seems that Uriah had 2 other children: Elizabeth, age 4, and John, age 1. Apparently, both children died before 1860. There were also 3 other people living with Uriah: a 62-year-old woman from Rhode Island named Elizabeth, a 26-year old named Matthew, and a 23-year-old named Charlotte. Could the elder Elizabeth be Uriah's mother? Are Matthew and Charlotte Uriah's brother and sister (or sister-in-law)?
