I didn't go to the cemetery. The weather wasn't that good. But I did talk to the person who photographed the tombstone for find a grave. She confirmed that the date was unreadable and that she would go there in the Spring to try to fathom the date.If you look closely at the photo, the third digit doesn't seem to be a 1, so coupled with the local land tract information, I'm pretty confident that John Andrew did not die in 1817.The cemetery wasn't laid out until 1830 BTW.I think that this is the John Andrew pair that came from Pa. The Crawfordsville land entries database indicates the John A Sr. was in Brown county Ohio before he acquired the Indiana land. That surprised me a little.
I found almost as many questions as answers.I found Jonathon who was more than likely John Andrew's son and a Mathew who acquired land in the 1820's.My line currently goes through Frederick b 1786, and I have not established a link to John Andrew, however I have DNA tested and am a perfect match to an ancestor of John Andrew's, so there is a link somewhere.
