Hi Jim,

The Louisiana Purchase occurred in 1803. Certainly, there were a lot of people moving into Missouri and environs 8 years later. William Matthews Cooley (a possible son of my John Cooley) had at least one child born in NC. He was in KY during the Rev War and moved to TN by c1804. I don't know for certain if any of his descendants went to MO but there is some indication of it.

There were several early Cooley families in VA, NC, TN and MO. Many have been proven via genetics to not have been closely related to one another. They're difficult to track.

Would you mind sending me a private email though my mailform site at http://ancestraldata.com/mailer?michael ? I'd like to know more deatils on your descent.

Thanks,
Michael
