Cooley Family Genealogy Forum

I did read an account of those Missouri pioneers,(probably on your site?) and I recall that one of the James Cooleys died young (an "indian" attack?) but how many James Cooleys could there have been in circulation at that time, that were born in NC and then got the idea to make a break for MO? And then, though it seems that most of those Cooleys stayed and multiplied, my Cooley mysteriously heads back east and settles in Dickson Co. TN and I have no idea why. He would have been 66 in the 1860 census but might have died prior. His son, Ervin/E.C., born in MO, has his own family by then and after the war removes to KY where he and his growing family will remain. Thanks for replying. Your site is amazing, by the way. I've lost many an hour down that rabbit hole. If you happen across any other leads or clues, I'd love to hear 'em. Thanks!
